In 1925-1926, noted golf course designer A.W. Tillinghast was contracted to design a course on Highland Ridge. Tillinghast, noted for many famous courses including Baltusrol, Winged Foot and Bethpage, designed a par 37 nine hole course which measured 3212 yards with the assistance of Ralph Martin Barton, who also worked with Tillinghast on the Mid-Ocean and Yale University Courses. In the 1980’s, Geoffrey Cornish and Brian Silva were hired to redesign several holes and finally, in 1992 the course was expanded to the 18-hole venue that exists today. The 18-hole layout, was opened for play in 1992.
